Stop At: Alexanderplatz, 10178 Berlin, Germany
Alexanderplatz looks very 20th century, so it’s hard to believe that this square witnessed all Berlin’s history. It was first mentioned in 14th century. The square is named after Russian emperor Alexander the 1st for the anti-Napoleon treaty was signed here. The World Time clock, showing the current time in 144 destinations is a must see. The Berlin TV tower is located at the south-west extention of the square. The observation spot on the tower with the bar and the restaurant offers the great panorama of the city. The old Town hall and the Church of St. Mary are located on the elegant square behind the tower with Berlin’s oldest Neptune fountain in the middle.

Stop At: Bellevue Palace, Spreeweg 1, 10557 Berlin Germany
Bellevue Palace is located in the middle of the Tiergarten park. Formerly a summer palace of the Prussian kings, since 1994 it has been the official residence of the president of Germany. Its name – the French for “beautiful view” – derives from its scenic prospect over the Spree’s course.
No visits inside the palace are allowed for public.

Stop At: Berliner Dom, Am Lustgarten, 10178 Berlin Germany
Berlin Cathedral is an impressive baroque structure, dating though to 1905. The park in front of the palace is a quite area, just 10 footsteps away from the busy street. The cathedral operates as the museum with the guided tours and the admission charge through most of the day, but it’s free of charge during the worship time at noon and 6 pm. Dome walkway 270 steps above the ground if worth a visit with the magnificient panorama of the city from the top.

Stop At: Victory Column (Siegessaule), Grosser Stern 1, 10557 Berlin Germany
Berlin Victory Column is a special memorial, dedicated to the 19th century wars that helped the unification of Germany. It’s located on the Great Star square – the intersection of the numerous roard in the middle of the Teirgarten. Before taking it’s final place in the Tiergarten, the column was relocated sevaral times, and even stood in front of the Reichstag for a while. The viewing platform on the top, for which a ticket is required, offers a great view over Berlin.

Stop At: Memorial of the Berlin Wall, Bernauer Strasse 111, 13355 Berlin Germany
Berlin wall was a 155km structure that 1961-1989 separated the West Berlin from the surrounding pro-Soviet GDR and East Berlin. It is one of the major cold war symbols. After the demolition of the wall, sections of it were left around the city as the memory. The largest Berlin wall section can be seen on the coast of the Spree, not far from Ostbahnhoff. The wall is covered with graffity, including the famous “Kiss of Brezhnev and Honecker”. There are numerous historical museums along the former wall, like the Topography of Terror, BlackBox Cold War, Museum Haus am Checkpoint Charlie, The Wall – asisi Panorama.

Stop At: Brandenburg Gate, Pariser Platz, 10117 Berlin Germany
Brandenburg gate is the main symbol of Berlin and Germany itself. Located at the beggining of Unter den Linden street, and the boarder of the Tiergarten, it’s the only remaining 18th century city gate of Berlin. Brandenburg gate was the inportant landmark of the cold war time as the most significant border of the Soviet and British sections of the divided city. Now the gate is open for everybody to walk through, and only few Tiergarten memorials remind up of the times of separation by the wall.

Stop At: Charlottenburg Palace, Spandauer Damm 20-24 Luisenplatz, 14059 Berlin Germany
Charlottenburg is the most beautiful baroque palace of Berlin dating 1699. Named after Charlotte, the wife of Friedrich I, this palace and the palace park along the Shpree river are one of three Prussian royal residences, located in Berlin itself and the earliest of those. It’s the significant landmark and a beautiful place for a walk.

Stop At: Checkpoint Charlie, Friedrichstr. 43-45, 10969 Berlin Germany
Checkpoint Charlie is one of 3 checkpoints on the border of Soviet and American sectors of Berlin during the cold war, located on Friederichstrasse. The checkpoints were indicated by letters – Alfa, Bravo, Charlie. With the Berlin wall demolition, the checkpoints were removed as well. Checkpoint Charlie stayed as a memory. The Berlin wall museum, also called Museum Haus am Checkpoint Charlie tells the history of the escape attempts during the Berlin wall times.

Gendarmenmarkt is a beautiful square in centrel Berlin with the Konzerthaus (concert hall) flanged by the indentical French and German churches on the sides. It’s one of the most beautiful squares of Berlin with the charming atmosphere. It’s a great place to relax after the intence city walk in one of the numerous street cafes.

Stop At: The Holocaust Memorial – Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, Cora-Berliner-Strasse 1, 10117 Berlin Germany
Holocaust Memorial or the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe is located near the Tiergarten, 150 yards south from the Brandenburg gate. It’s an 4.7 acre site covered with 2,711 concrete slabs or “stelae”, arranged in a grid pattern on a sloping field. The stelae are 2.38 m (7 ft 10 in) long, 0.95 m (3 ft 1 in) wide and vary in height from 0.2 to 4.7 m (7.9 in to 15 ft 5.0 in). The memorial was designed by Peter Eisenman – a prominent American archites.

Stop At: Humboldt University (Humboldt Universitat), Unter den Linden 6, 10099 Berlin Germany
Humboldt University of Berlin in located on Unter den Linden street. It’s an impressive structure that feels like a school at the first sight. It is one of Berlin’s oldest universities, founded on 15 October 1811 by the liberal Prussian educational reformer and linguist Wilhelm von Humboldt. His statue can be seen in front of the main building. It’s an active school with thousands of students from all over world.

Stop At: Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, Breitscheidplatz, 10789 Berlin Germany
Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church is mostly just known as Gedächtniskirche is a charming, but very much damaged church, located not far from Kudam street and Berlin Zoo. The original church on the site was built in the 1890s. It was badly damaged in a bombing raid in 1943. The present building, which consists of a church with an attached foyer and a separate belfry with an attached chapel, was built between 1959 and 1963. The damaged spire of the old church has been retained and its ground floor has been made into a memorial hall. The Memorial Church today is a famous landmark of western Berlin, and is nicknamed by Berliners “der hohle Zahn”, meaning “the hollow tooth”.

Stop At: Konzerthaus, Gendarmenmarkt, 10117 Berlin Germany
Konzerthaus Berlin is a beautiful concert hall on the Gendarmenmarkt square, central Berlin, the home for the Konzerthausorchester Berlin. The great hall is equipped with a notable four-manual pipe organ built by Jehmlich Orgelbau Dresden in 1984. Acoustically, the hall is considered to be amongst the best concert venues in the world for music and opera.

Stop At: Museum Island, Breite Street, 13089 Berlin Germany
Museum Island is the name of the northern half of an island in the Spree river. It is called so for the complex of five internationally significant museums located there:
The Altes Museum (Old Museum) features the Collection of Classical Antiquities.
The Neues Museum (New Museum) finished in 1859. Destroyed in World War II, it was re-opened in 2009. it features the Egyptian and Prehistory and Early History collections, including the iconic bust of Nefertiti.
The Alte Nationalgalerie (Old National Gallery)’s collection contains works of the Neoclassical and Romantic movements, of the Biedermeier, French Impressionism and early Modernism.
The Bode Museum on the island’s northern tip is the home for a collection of sculptures, Byzantine art, and coins and medals.
The Pergamon Museum features the antiquity collection, the Middle East museum, and the museum of Islamic art with such pieces as the Pergamon Altar and the Ishtar Gate of Babylon.

Stop At: Potsdamer Platz Tiegarten, 10785 Berlin Germany
Potsdamer Platz is a large square at the South-East corner of the Tiergarten. Prior to the WW2 is was the major transportation and market intersection of Berlin. There were numerous hotels, restaurants on the square. The forefather of the contemporary malls – Potsdam house appeared here in 1912. Potsdamer Plaz railway station was the 2nd largest in Berlin. The squared was badly damaged in WW2 battles. Later it became the border of Berlin’s Soviet, American and British sectors. The construction of the Berlin wall through the middle of the square caused the demolition of the remaining buildings. Now Potsdamer Platz is a contemporary business district with tall office towers by the best contemporary architects, impressive buildings and large Sony center complex.

Stop At: Rotes Rathaus, Rathausstr. 15 Judenstr. 1, 10178 Berlin Germany
The Rotes Rathaus or the Red City Hall is the official city hall of Berlin, located near the Alexanderplaz. It is the home to the governing mayor and the Senate of Berlin. The red brick building appeared in the middle of 19th century. It was rebuilt to the original plans after WW2. The square in front of the City Hall brings you to the charming atmosphere of 19th century Berlin with Marienkirche, Belin’s oldest church and the Neptune, one of Germany’s oldest fountains.

The dome of Reichstag can be visited free of charge, but for the security reasons preliminary booking for the visit is required. Only individual bookings are accepted. Please note that the valid id is a must for both booking and visit.

Stop At: Unter den Linden, Berlin Germany
Unter den Linden is a main street of Berlin. It begins at the Pariser Plaz and Brandenburg gate and goes East through the most significant part of Berlin historical center to the Schlossbrucke on Spree. The name of the street means “Under the Linden trees”, as the lindens were planted here back in the 17th century to decorate Prussian king’s ride to the royal hunt at the Tiergarten. You can find lots’s of important landmarks along the Unter den Linden streel like Berlin Opera, Museum Island, Berlin Cathedral, Humboldt University and many more.
