Stop At: Old Town Hall, Dusseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia Germany

Dusseldorf Town Hall – The town hall was rebuilt after the destruction caused by World War 2. Its construction took place according to the historic plans on its foundation walls. Therefore, it’s appearance makes it look like a real historic town. It is an aesthetic renaissance building with baroque extensions.

Equestrian statue – This statue is of a rider mounted on a horse. In latin, “equis” means Knight. After the Romans, there was no surviving monument equestrian bronze casted in Europe util the 1215-1450. The statue has Düsseldorf’s famous Elector Johann Wilhelm von der Pfalz, also known commonly as Jan Wellem.

Schloss Tower – Also, known as the “Castle Tower”, this old monument is a relic of the old Dusseldorf Palace. It was burned down in 1882 and was shattered due to the damage in world war 2. This has now been renovated and also houses the Maritime Museum. Passing by the Schloss tower, you will be visiting the twisting old town alleys.
