Enjoy the unique mountain world of this former Olympic resort which includes the highest peak in Germany, the impressive walkable canyon “Partnachklamm”, which can be reached from the ski stadium with the famous ski jumps, as well as sophisticated pedestrian zones, which invite you to a leisurely stroll. Built during the Nazi dictatorship for the 1936 Winter Olympics and remodeled for the planned Winter Olympics in 1940, which failed due to World War II. For this purpose, the two communities Garmisch and Partenkirchen were forcibly merged.

The Partnachklamm is a fascinating 700 meters (1/2 mile) long and up to 80 meters (260 feet) deep gorge, through which the meltwater of the Zugspitze Glacier rages. It is safe to walk on all year round and is an ideal destination for any weather!

From the car park to the entrance of the gorge you need 25 minutes on foot or in season by horse-drawn carriage (about € 20.00 for 4 people each way)

Take the ultramodern cable car or the cozy rack railway to Germany’s highest mountain. Enjoy the magnificent 360° panorama and have fun in the snow all year round on this glacier.

Linderhof Castle is located in the seclusion of a charming Alpine valley. It is the smallest but most luxuriously adorned of the three fairytale castles of the Bavarian King Ludwig II. The 30-minute tour amongst all this splendor will take your breath away.

From 21st May 2022 the world famous and because of the 2020 crises postponed Oberammergau Passion play will take place here.
With a capacity of 4.500 spectators this theater is the world’s largest open air stage with covered auditorium!

Oberammergau is famous around the world for its staging of the passion play. However, there is a lot more to discover, starting with unique murals and wood carvings (including a variety of cribs) and much more – let us surprise you!

Between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Oberammergau, the 14th-century Benedictine Abbey of Ettal, with its own brewery and unique Baroque monastery church, is nestled in the picturesque mountain scenery. Find out about its spectacular founding as well as the intriguing details of the stunning interior design.

In less than an hour’s drive we reach the Bavarian capital, which is affectionately called “cosmopolitan city with heart”.

After another 50 minutes drive through Tyrolean territory along the breathtaking Plansee we reach the world-famous fairytale castle, Schloss Neuschwanstein. Let yourself be enchanted by the dream world of the equally creative and unhappy King Ludwig II and visit all completed rooms in a compact and compelling 35-minute tour.

This enchanting alpine town once hosted the important “Bolzano market”, was and is the center of German violin making and will fascinate you with its wallpaintings and an overwhelming Rococo-church.

Even – or maybe especially – the darkest times in history provide many opportunities for learning, which is why the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial draws a steadily increasing stream of visitors from around the world.
On a 1 – 2.5-hour audio-guide tour, you will be informed about the atrocities of the Nazi regime. (Please note that you will not be accompanied by your guide Stefan during your visit to the memorial.)

The provincial capital of Tyrol can be reached via charming mountain routes. Expect a medieval city center on the Inn Bridge, fantastic viewpoints and the Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens, which are definitely worth seeing.
