Stop At: Neuschwanstein Castles – Schwangau, 87645 Schwangau, Germany

NEUSCHWANSTEIN castle – dream destination for innumerable travelers from all over the world! No building in Germany is visited more often than Ludwigs most famous fairy-tale castle, whose construction was begun in 1869.

It was dedicated to Ludwig’s favorite composer Richard Wagner; the neo-Romanesque façade is deceptive that the progress made enthusiastic king build it as a high-tech castle.

During the 35-minute castle tour, you will be shown all the King’s completed living quarters. On the subsequent 15-minute walk to the exit, you will pass through one of the unfinished floors, after which you will see the unusually modern kitchen of the castle.

Your tour guide can ensure that you are at the castle in time for the start of the tour. He can also accompany you to the stunning bridge-viewpoint ‘MARIENBRÜCKE’, that allows the best photos on the castle. Also, a guided hike through the spectacular PÖLLAT GORGE is possible (the bridge and/or gorge may be closed for various reasons).

With the option “XXL – Time Credit” you could visit HOHENSCHWANGAU castle, the neo-gothic summer residence of King Maximilian II. with Ludwig’s spectacular children’s room, as well.

Because of COVID-19 there is a special 45-min tour offered, where we can book a Skip-the-Line ticket, too. (Entrance € 23,50 / Children under 7 years € 2.50)

For people with REDUCED WALKING ABILITY, guided tours of the castle are not always recommended at the moment. Since the lift in Neuschwanstein castle cannot be used due to Corona, 346 steps (and at least 500 m/0.3 miles) have to be walked – we’ll gladly advise you!

After the visit of the Fairy tale castles we enter Austrian territory on our way to the XXL-suspension bridge “Highline 179”. It will be breathtaking scenic route, later, on a different way back to Germany, also along the crystal clear mountain lake Plansee.

Welcome to the historic Ehrenberg Castle Ensemble – paired with the most modern and thrilling technology!

The 13th century Ehrenberg castle ruins are the centerpiece of one of the most important fortress complexes in Central Europe. It was once a mighty defense facility, administrative seat and customs station. An experiential museum bring visitors closer to the history of the area and its surrounding nature. For events of all kinds, the various historic rooms offer a more than worthy setting.

At the entrance of the castle ruins, the spectacular “Highline179”-pedestrian suspension bridge spans the valley at a height of 114 m/374 ft. If you dare to cross it, you will reach the baroque Fort Claudia after another 10 minutes walk.

An attraction for young and old – all year round. A lift (€ 7.00/adult-roundtrip) replaces the 20-minute ascent on foot.

Entrance to the 700-year-old Ehrenberg castle ruins is free of charge!

The incredibly long pedestrian suspension bridge “Highline 179” spans the “Ehrenberg valley” at a dizzying altitude. With its stately 406 meters (1,332 ft) in length, it can officially be named the world’s longest pedestrian bridge in the Tibet style. The crossing is also for children absolutely safe and offers spectacular views!

A first-class attraction for young and old who are in the mood for an extra adrenaline kick!

Not so brave people can enjoy the view of this technical masterpiece and the surrounding mountains from numerous vantage points. There is no need to enter or cross the bridge at all!

Entrance fee suspension bridge (2021): € 8.00 adults/€ 5.00 children (4 – 14 years).

A lift (€ 7.00/adult-roundtrip) replaces the 20-minute ascent on foot.

Stop At: Schloss Linderhof, Linderhof 12, 82488 Ettal, Bavaria Germany

With the option “XXL – Time Credit” you have the opportunity to visit LINDERHOF Palace – it was King Ludwig’s smallest but most intimate castle located in a lonely Alpine valley.

With its breathtaking french baroque design and famous Bavarian trick paintings it was King Ludwig II’s favourite palace. Following the French model, Linderhof was the only one of the three “fairytale castles” to be completed.
In the castle park there are other jewels, unfortunately, the ‘Venus Grotto’ is closed for many years because of restoration work (a small replica can be seen near the parking spot).

Stop At: Oberammergau, Oberammergau, Upper Bavaria, Bavaria

OBERAMMERGAU – due to the Corona crisis, the world-famous Passion Play had to be postponed for the first time since WWII. The big event, which normally takes place at the full decade, must now be waited until 14 May 2022.

On a guided tour of the village we will be happy to show you the Passion Play Theatre and its spectacular “Cabrio Stage” as well as the enchanting wall paintings. During a stroll through the historic center you can discover numerous shops offering souvenirs in a wide range, including the famous Oberammergau wood carvings.

Stop At: Alpine Coaster, Kreislainenweg, 82487 Oberammergau, Germany

With the option “XXL – Time Credit” you can take a ride at the ALPINE COASTER: A chairlift takes you in picturesque mountains to a cosy mountain inn and to the start of the adventurous Alpine Coaster at 1,270 m altitude: With the 1st world’s longest weatherproof toboggan run with magnetic brakes, you can reach the valley at a length of 2,600 meters with breathtaking views and adventurous curves.

ETTAL ABBEY: If you want to see (and understand) another baroque masterpiece concerning church decorations, inserted in a 12-page domed room from the 14th century, you should follow your guide in this lovely Benedictine monastery near a little passo, just a 5 minutes’ drive away from Oberammergau.

Stop At: Pilgrimage Church of Wies, Wies 12, 86989 Steingaden, Bavaria Germany

With the option “XXL – Time Credit” you can visit one of the overwhelming baroque-Rococo churches of this region.
Your guide will provide you with all the worth knowing information, for example about the very popular Wies-Church, or – what we not recommend less – one of the other nearby churches, which are still “secret tips”, quiet and peaceful far away from the tourist masses.
