The Würzburg Residence, a Baroque palace in Würzburg, Germany, was constructed between 1720 and 1744 for the Prince-Bishops of Würzburg. Designed by renowned architect Balthasar Neumann, it showcases a blend of French château, Viennese baroque, and Italian palace styles. Its grand staircase leads to the Imperial Hall, adorned with Giovanni Battista Tiepolo’s vast frescoes, among the world’s largest. The Mirror Cabinet, covered in mirrors and gold stucco, exemplifies Baroque artistry. Despite extensive WWII damage, meticulous restoration has preserved its splendor. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981, it remains a testament to Baroque opulence and cultural heritage.
